Description
generous yet silky texture is supported by finely-judged acidity
There is both good verve and detail to the subtly mineral-inflected middle weight flavors that terminate in a clean
garrigue and Chinese five spice
This is the first wine to display any appreciable amount of wood and even here it’s quite subtle as it easily allows the notably exotic aromas of dried yellow fruit
especially pear
Breaky Bottom, Gerard Hoffnug Brut Vintage Vintage:2009 generous yet silky texture isPeter and Christina Hall have farmed their beautifully isolated little Sussex plot for half a century, and Halls wines are as characterful as the man himself. He is perhaps the countrys finest exponent of sparkling Seyval, though my top mark in a recent tasting went to this Chardonnay and Pinot blend for its savoury mushroom aromas and fresh but bready palate.
